Chennai's humidity rarely drops below 65-70% even outside the monsoon, because the city sits directly on the Bay of Bengal with no hill barrier to break the moisture off the sea. That constant humidity is the single biggest factor in how long an adhesive bond holds here - it simply doesn't dry out the way a bond does in a drier inland city, which changes both the adhesive we recommend and how often we check it.

April to June brings dry heat on top of that humidity, with daytime temperatures regularly crossing 38-40°C. Scalp sweat under a bonded system rises sharply in this window, and a standard tape or glue that performs fine from December to February can lift at the edges by May. We move clients toward sweat-resistant, higher-hold adhesives and thinner, more breathable mono or skin bases for this stretch specifically.

For a toupee specifically, that usually means starting from a skin (poly) base — clients who part their hair and want the most undetectable scalp look, with a typical lifespan of 4–8 months of daily wear in this climate.

Where we fit a toupee in Chennai

There is no HairSystems.co.in studio in Chennai; every client here - from Anna Nagar to Sholinganallur - is served entirely by home visits, templating, fitting and servicing at the client's address.

We run three fixed loops rather than scheduling ad hoc: a central-south loop covering T Nagar, Mylapore, Adyar and Velachery; an OMR/IT-corridor loop covering Sholinganallur, Thoraipakkam and Siruseri, usually booked as evening slots after office hours; and a GST Road loop covering Tambaram, Chromepet and Pallavaram, which tends to fill with weekend appointments.
